Founded in 1979, Barbara Inc. has provided construction and development services for more than four decades, building a strong foundation of expertise in planning, design, construction, and residential and commercial real estate development.

In 1985, in response to changing market conditions and the evolving needs of its clients, BHDS Group was established as a firm providing owner's representative services and professional construction management.

Building on decades of experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction industries, BHDS Group provides independent leadership and expertise throughout the design and construction process. Our experience encompasses planning, design, procurement, construction, and project closeout, allowing us to bring a practical and informed perspective to complex projects.

Today, BHDS Group represents owners on unique residential, commercial, institutional, and capital projects, providing the experience, oversight, and independent perspective necessary to protect the owner's interests and investment.

As an independent owner's representative, BHDS Group provides leadership and professional expertise throughout the planning, design, procurement, and construction process.

Lawrence Barbara

Principal-in-Charge

Lawrence Barbara brings more than 50 years of professional experience in planning, design, construction of unique projects with purposeful architecture.

His experience includes national and international projects and encompasses a broad range of complex project types. Through this work, he has developed extensive knowledge in the management of cost, time, scope, quality, and project risk.

As Principal-in-Charge, Lawrence remains actively involved in the business and provides leadership and oversight throughout each BHDS engagement. His practical understanding of the architecture, engineering, and construction industries enables BHDS to serve as an informed and independent advocate for its clients.

His philosophy is straightforward: Listen carefully. Establish clear objectives. Anticipate problems. Protect the owner's interests. Deliver the project.

Michael Marcyniak

Project Manager

As Project Manager for the BHDS Group, Mr. Marcyniak is actively involved in all aspects of projects. He has 18 years of experience in planning, design, and construction of residential and commercial projects. His experience spans many project types including residential, commercial, industrial, public and private education, hospitality, convention facilities, financial, office and retail.
